RingBeacon ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your
privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard
your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use RingBeacon:

Account Information: Email address, display name, and
username that you provide during registration.

Device Information: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
token for push notification delivery.

Contact Data: A list of users you add as contacts
within the app (usernames and email addresses of your contacts).
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively for the following purposes:

User Authentication: To create and manage your account
securely via Firebase Authentication.

Core Functionality: To enable you and your contacts to
remotely ring each other's phones and toggle the flashlight to help find
lost devices.

Push Notifications: To deliver ring/flash commands and
contact requests between users via Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Crash Reporting: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect
anonymous crash reports to improve app stability. No personally
identifiable information is included in crash reports.
3. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and
Firebase Authentication).

Firestore security rules ensure that users can only access their own
data and their contacts' limited public information.

We do not store passwords. Authentication is handled entirely by
Firebase Authentication.

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted using
HTTPS/TLS.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information
with third parties. Your data is only shared in the following limited
ways:

Between Contacts: Your display name and email are
visible to users you have added as contacts (and vice versa).

Firebase Services: Data is processed by Google Firebase
services (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics)
subject to
Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Permissions
The app requests the following Android permissions:

Internet: Required for communication with Firebase
services.

Vibrate: To vibrate the device when a ring command is
received.

Wake Lock: To keep the device awake during an active
ring/flash session.

Modify Audio Settings: To set the device volume to
maximum when ringing, even if the device is in silent mode.

Post Notifications: To display notifications when a
ring/flash command is received.

Foreground Service: To keep the alarm/flash running
reliably in the background.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app using the
"Delete Account" feature.

When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed,
including your profile information, contact relationships, and pending
requests.
7. Children's Privacy
RingBeacon is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do
not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we
discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will
delete it immediately.
8. Do Not Disturb Feature
The app includes a "Do Not Disturb" mode that you can enable to prevent
your phone from being rung by contacts for a specified period. This
setting is stored in your account data and can be toggled at any time.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be
reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the
updated policy.
